Learning and bilingualism
It is always a good time to teach or extend learning through games and emotions. We want little ones to feel curiosity and excitement for the new things they will discover in their boxes, and at the same time we want our different characters to normalise the use of Spanish and other language words in their daily life.
With this in mind, at Rainbow Rainbers® we have carefully crafted activities that align with our three main topics: Travel, Day Out at Museums, and Colours in Nature.
Each activity is thoughtfully designed to cater to various destinations, languages, learning levels, and subject areas. Inside all our boxes, you will discover bilingual materials that effectively engage children and present them with exciting new words and fascinating facts.
Furthermore, our activities support the National Curriculum, including the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) as well as Key Stages 1 and 2.
Our educational resources complement the EYFS 7 areas of learning:
PSED: Facilitating moments of connection, empowering children to make choices, fostering independent learning, as well as promoting sustained shared thinking moments and adult engagement with the outcomes of the activities.
CL: Stimulating conversations with peers and adults, introducing new vocabulary in both English and other languages.
PD: Encouraging younger children to develop their fine motor skills through coloring, writing, and drawing.
Literacy: Providing opportunities for letter recognition and writing practice (with assistance from older children or adults).
Mathematics: Engaging in counting activities and numeral recognition.
UW: Exploring differences, learning facts about other cultures, the natural world, and abstract concepts such as respect and responsibility for our planet.
EAD: Nurturing children’s creativity and encouraging them to express themselves through designing their own creations, creatures, or games.
Also the Primary National Curriculum:
English: Reading and writing challenges
Science: Exploring nature and diverse cultures.
Arts and Design: Inspiring children to decorate their pages and create their own masterpieces.
Languages: Introducing new vocabulary and cultural context.
Geography: Discovering countries through maps and detailed information.
On our website and our social media, you will find more activities to encourage both the learning of the new words and provide fun family time.
